Hey Zac,

After the National Interschools event, Slopestyle jib line wil get a remodel. We have some 8m rails so we'll look at putting one in for you guys. With the "S" rail, I got to say we just haven't had a chance to get down there to reweld it. All of our groomers are in the cats 6 days a week and working swing and grave shift so we just don't have someone available during the day to do the work. Not trying to make excuses, just being honest. We now have the "S" box and Big Dipper in at bottom of SS, and a new 5m roundbar down rail in Leichardt where the "S" went last year. With the scattered features we were trying to start a second jib line but it never happened, the Spring rebuild will be a single line and have a better flow.

Thanks buddy for the comments on the jumps, AG

im still a newb at this shit so im only hitting 40 ft max for the time being but its good to see that there is a massive jump for the ppl that can hit it. Keep it,,, its awesome watching riders hit that even if u cant (yet). If any suggestions for the new setup, spread the jib line in Leichhardt a little so that u have time to check for speed hitting the 1st 3 features, possibly an up/down box and put the c box in further in the line if its not being used on slopestyle,,, but other than that love your work!!!! Awesome that u took my advice into consideration earlier in the season and started adding photos and vids to the blog!!! Cant wait to get back out there for some spring riding

Hey Adam and co.

Wondering if you can comment a bit about grooming in the pipe. It feels to me like the transitions are not as smooth as they used to be, especially when Torah came to visit...

Is there anything that can be done to make them a bit nicer, so the transition from the vertical walls to the bottom of the pipe isn't so abrupt? I realise its Australia with wet snow, especially in September, but a month or so ago the transitions were soooooooooooooooooooooo smooth. it would be good to have a nice pipe to ride before the parks soften up for the day. Hope what I just wrote makes sense!

Cheers man. thanks for all your work so far, especially this bog.

ps: Hows the S rail repair going? any chance of an install? last years S rail set up in leichardt was ace.

the jumps are all sick so i don't think they need to change, maybe bigger if anything seeing tho there will be some international people in town for the one hit wonder.
but its time to mix the jibs up a bit, perisher hasnt had a long flat bar all season, 8m and only knee high would be sick. flat down box 3m by 6m with good pop so can gap and another cannon would be sweet. i know the s rail broke but it shouldnt take 2months to fix so that could go in too. the best thing that could be down though is to make one straight line of 8 jibs in front valley like earlier this season, having them scattered is just annoying ask anyone in the park. but these are all just suggestions, keep up the good work guys

Shut up perisher rider who clearly cannot ride!
There is a 55ft jump before the 70 ft that you can hit so hit that and avoid the last one if it scares you which it apparently does that is still 3 jumps per run so be happy, i don't know how often you ride and where you are looking while you are riding but me and my buddies ride the park everyday and hit that jump most days and definatley do see people hit it and have some some amazing tricks including a bunch of double corks which you will not see on a 50ft jump so stop your whining and don't hit it as there is plenty of other people who do enjoy it.

PERISHER RIDER you sound like your a kook... Adam keep that jump line me and all my friends, some of which have bailed on thredbo every week, have been having the funnest sessions on the jump line and mostly that bottom jump.. Perisher rider you would be surprised what the crew from thredbo think about perisher parks, compared to thredbo's boring arse long lap and that's why you'll see a hand full of them ridding front valley park each week..

If anything Adam if you could bring the knuckle up higher on the bottom jump, roll that knuckle and itll be MONEY..

love the work from everyone involved

Another week gone by & still you persist w/ a jump @ the bottom of the park that no-one hits... & again no one from the park crew or grooming crew hitting it to test it - as to be expected-
Thredbo are starting to plan their spring park & their biggest jump is planned to be 55ft as they realise how ridiculous it is to have anything any bigger here in a park in Aus- ha not even the jump @ the bottom of main park @ Mammoth is over 55 ft..

Hey Paul,

With this weather we won't be digging any pads up to change things until it gets cold again (looking like it'll be wet for a couple days yet). The pad was just a start, we'll build it up and farther back before we put anything on it. With the f/d and d/f/d did you mean to combo them up? We've tried it in the past here and in the states and rail combos don't work well at all, especially in the spring. Once they get the slightest lean in them then they don't line up, terrible to try to maintain and dangerous to ride. It works as a gap or an obtuse angle like an up / flat but to ride into a combo kink there's too much room for error trying to keep the rails lined up in the soft spring snow. We have a design for a d/f/d that will work sweet, we'll just have to wait and see what gets approved to build over summer. I've seen a heap of footage lately with down / flats and they look pretty good, never took too much notice of them until you mentioned it the other day so we'll see how we go with that one as well.
Glad you had a great 5 days, the spring sessions should be good this year with all this snow.

Cheers, Adam

why can you only do it next year dont understand why you just cant use 2 flat rails to make a flat down and 3 flat rails to make a kink also i have been told that the jib line is getting a rebuild and that the pad that has just been built before the yard rail is where the donkey is gonna go and honestly thats not gonna work its way way way too close together like you can't even roll down that pad and hit the yard rail as you have too much speed i really think you need to think about making that space another 5metres apart from that jib line is good and fun atm just had my best 5 days of riding ever this week im a very happy chappy.

"Perisher Rider"

I had to think about this one for a while before responding. Your problem seems to be that the bottom jump is too big for you and you feel there is no progression, and I could see your point if we had slopestyle only and only four jumps at Perisher. But we don't we have 18 jumps ranging in size from aprox. 15 foot to aprox. 70 foot. We have always been about progression here that's why we're always the first resort to open our parks and always have the most jumps and jibs in Aus. That's why we have five park areas and the only pipe in the country. And that's why we have this Blog to get your feedback so we can continually improve our parks.
But I got to say that pushing that bottom jump smaller is only going to hinder the progression here, it's the biggest jump in Aus, which was a big help to the AUS riders before they went to the NZ Burton Open to hit the bottom jump in their Slopestyle comp which was 75 feet. Front Valley park was the place that everyone trained before going down to Victoria to hit the 80 footer at Stylewars. And Front Valley is where everyone is going now to Progress their riding rather than doing long laps on a double line of 35 and 40 feet.
The feedback I'm hearing is that everyone is loving it. There's guys doing double corks and guys that didn't have a pass here at the start of the season but now bought spring passes here just to ride that jump line and to Progress their riding.
You said that you wanted it pushed back to 55 foot, but there's a 50 footer just above it with a long landing that increases speed. With the amount of snow that we have in there the landings are taller and longer than they have ever been, if we make that jump smaller people will overshoot. You also made mention that you know for a "fact" that none of our guys hit the bottom two features. Don't know where you got your "facts" but they're wrong, and that's all I'm saying about that.
I'm glad to hear that you like the jib set up. We have a quad line of jumps in Slopestyle, Leichardt and Piper now and a tripple line at Blue Cow I hope you can find a jump line that suits you better at one of the other areas.

Regards, Adam
