Superpipe

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Hey All,

Well it’s been a busy week out there pushing for the Superpipe, but it’s now starting to take shape.  The snowmakers have had 10 snow guns firing in the halfpipe site for the past 3 weeks, and we now have enough snow to finish the push.  We finished the left wall yesterday and with the help of a couple more snow cats we’re half way down the right wall.   At times it can be a difficult build because there isn’t much area to push from but because of the surplus of snowmaking guns in the location it’s actually easier to build than pipes I’ve built in other countries.  The mechanics are doing some final preparations on the HPG pipe cutter and we hope to start shaping the pipe in the middle of the week, with a planned opening before the weekend.  Once it is completed it will be maintained six days a week as always and will be open from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. daily.  Won’t be long now.

Cheers, Adam

New Jumps!!

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Hi all,

With the recent snow falls and cold temps lately we’ve been able to build the ever popular Piper Park and Leichardt Park, as well as rebuild the Slopestyle on Front Valley.  The Piper park is now set up with two 15 foot jumps and 6 rollers, with room to add more features as we continue to get more snow.  The Leichardt Park, much like Piper benefits from natural drifting snow due to it’s location.  The snow that Bryan, one of our experienced Canadian park builders used had accumulated behind the trees and our purpose built snowfences during the last storm.  Leichardt park now has 7 jumps and a hip ranging in size from 10 feet to 35 feet long, as well as a 6m box and a new bonk bin.  The new snowmaking system that we installed last year in the Front Valley Slopestyle is working a treat and has allowed us to build two step-down jumps at 35 and 45 feet, plus a 45 foot spine.  Five boxes, a 6m down rail and a 3m vertical stall box round out the Slopestyle jib lineup.  Already with 13 jumps accross our Fusion Parks and with more snow on the way, keep an eye out for more additions to our parks in the coming days.  Have fun out there, look forward to hearing your comments.

Cheers, Adam
