We understand that skiing or boarding can be intimidating and this is what we are here for, to help ease your fears and to get you started down the right path.
In Beginner lessons you will develop the basics, learn how to turn and stop, gain confidence and polish your turns on various terrain.
Take your skiing or riding to the next level, turn it up and break through the plateau and master your turns on blue runs and be introduced to easy blacks.
In Intermediate lessons you will advance your turns for control on blue runs and develop skills to experience more of the mountain including some natural terrain features and easy blacks.
Thought you don’t need a lesson? – skiing or riding is so much more exciting when you challenge yourself under the skilled guidance of Perisher’s expert instructors. Explore off-piste terrain, manoeuvre jumps and bumps or tackle our park & pipe while experiencing individual coaching and feedback.
In Advanced Lessons you will enjoy a combination of technical coaching, demanding skiing/riding and local knowledge and learn tactics and techniques to help excel in all condition and terrain
2. Select Your Age Group
Adult: 15+ years – ski and snowboard lessons.
Please view our Teens program options for 15 year olds.
Teens: 12 to 15 years – ski and snowboard lessons.
Kids: 5 to 11 years – ski lessons.
Kids: 6 to 11 years – snowboard lessons.
Younger children will benefit from a full day program which will stimulate and motivate in an action packed environment while they refine their skills and experience the mountain.
Pre-Schoolers: 3 to 4 years – ski lessons.
Full day programs are perfectly paced to enhance learning and development of skills in a fun and exciting environment. It is recommended that Pre-Schoolers are toilet trained.
3. Select Your Location
At Blue Cow you will learn on Australia’s top terrain with magical mountain views! Wide open spaces offer the best learning experience with terrain that builds confidence and provides an easy progression towards more challenging runs. Blue Cow can be accessed via the Skitube from either the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal (included with your ticket) or Bullocks Flat (at an extra charge). Take advantage of Bullocks Flat’s large rental fleet that guarantees equipment perfect for your needs or take a break at one of Blue Cow’s food outlets with stunning views.
Perisher Valley is an exciting place to learn and challenge yourself with quick access to a variety of intermediate and advanced terrain, groomed trails, and thrilling features. Perisher Valley also offers a variety of food outlets, on-snow hire and retail facilities and can be accessed via Skitube from Bullocks Flat or park right at the base of the runs. With our new innovative product with no more than six people per instructor, Max6 will deliver a premium experience and achieve fast results – we guarantee it.
The learning area in Smiggin Holes provides the perfect terrain for all ages to master their turns. Starting on the magic carpet and quickly progressing to J-Bar Land and then on to other close-by green and blue runs, beginner skiers and snowboarders alike will be delighted with how quickly their expertise develops. Smiggins offers gentle, family friendly beginner terrain and lifts with the convenience of on-snow hire and retail facilities along with the ability to park right at the base of the runs.

Smiggins Kids (3 to 11 years) is especially designed for our young Smiggins guests and in 2013, we have expanded our program to cater for children aged 3 to 4 years. Smiggins Ski Kids operates daily from 24th June to 8th September and the snowboard program 6 to 11 years is available from 1st July to 14th July only.

Children can check in from 9.00am and lessons commence at 9.30am and finish at 3.30pm. All children will start and finish in the Smiggin Holes Kids Meeting Area.

This is a holiday program with a difference aimed at intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders aged 7 to 14 years!
Learn how to master turns on advanced terrain, explore varied off-piste challenges, and/or tackle the parks & pipe with the coolest of Perisher’s most experienced coaches. The aim of this program is to develop skills and gain confidence to increase safety in challenging terrain and it is available during school holidays 1st to 13th July 2013 and every Saturday in July and August from 1.00pm to 3.30pm.

Discovery Kids is tailored to our youngest skiers (3 to 4 years with 5 year olds also welcome) and operates from the Snow Discovery Centre on the lower level of the Perisher Valley Terminal.
Our instructors are specially trained, love working with young kids and provide a fun no pressure introduction to the sport of skiing. Discovery Kids will improve through games and play in dedicated children’s learning areas before heading out and cruising the slopes.
First attempts at skiing are easily accomplished with the Discovery Kids own ski carousel.
