What’s New in 2012?

Perisher has again been busy in the summer months working on new product innovations as well as making improvements across our four resort areas, all to make our guest experiences even better in 2012. Here are some of the highlights:

New Products:

• With the convenience of on-line purchasing, Lift Tickets and Lesson products are being offered with a significant discount if purchased prior to the 31st May 2012; savings of up to 30% can be made.
• New 5 for 4! Ski and Stay for 5 days and only pay for 4. Available with 5 for 4 accommodation packages. For as little as $599 for adults, guests can stay at the Station and play at Perisher for 5 days but pay for just 4. Offer is limited, for visits from 30 June to 26 August 2012.
• Now guests can receive FREE lift access on the afternoon prior to their first full day skiing or snowboarding on all 3, 4 and 5-Day Lift Tickets and Beginner Lift & Lesson Packages.
• Giving more flexibility, a new any 5 in 7 day Lift Ticket will now be available from $295.
• New Beginner Lift & Lesson Packages have now been included with access specific to those lifts suitable for developing and progressing the skills and confidence of beginners. These Packages will not only meet the needs of guests learning to ski or snowboard but also provide better savings. 5-Days from just $318.
• Combined Lift and Lesson Tickets are now more flexible to suit individual needs. Lessons and / or Perisher Kids programs packaged with a Lift Ticket, no longer requires them to be matched for the same duration. For example a 5 day Lift Ticket can now be packaged with 3 days of lessons (that can be used on any 3 days during the 5 days of skiing / boarding) and still have a discount applied.
• A new 3 & 4-Day “midweek” Lift Ticket pricing structure during July and August that will see great savings during what has traditionally been classified as peak season previously.

New Infrastructure & Developments:

Over $3 Million has been invested to upgrade and update key areas in the resort:

• New Automated snowmaking at Blue Cow. Over $600,000 has been invested to improve snowmaking quality and output on Roller Coaster at Blue Cow. It not only provides quality coverage, but the new equipment means better energy efficiency.
• Three additional snow groomers will further boost Australia’s largest and most admired grooming fleet! In total Perisher will now have 21 snow groomers in action manicuring the slopes, terrain parks and Australia’s only halfpipe.
• More than $400,000 has been spent replacing ski and snowboard equipment for the various Perisher Snowsports Hire outlets, keeping Australia’s biggest and best hire selection in top condition.
• Over $100,000 has been invested in summer slope grooming improvements to ensure easy access to all parts of Perisher’s four resort areas.
• A new Demo Store located on the lower level of the Perisher Centre will enable guests to try before they buy.  A range of the latest products from top brands Burton, K2, Salomon and Volkl will be available to test drive. Being situated right on the snow, guests will be able to change skis or snowboards throughout the day until they find the equipment that best suits them.
• Refurbishment of the Smiggin Holes Ticket Office will speed up the purchasing process allowing more time out on the snow and a new retail outlet will offer a fresh selection of the latest snow product brands to choose from.
• A new ‘Sunkid Rotondo Carousel’ learning aid will be installed in Perisher, further improving children’s programs and reinforcing Perisher as having the best kids Snowsports School facilities in Australia. www.sunkid.at/en/sunkid-produkte/sunkid-winter-world/sunkid-rotondo-karussell0.html
• Improved MyRide Dashboard will add exciting new functionality where guests can track the areas of the mountain skied; vertical metres skied and share with family and friends. • Additional MyRide gates will be installed on the Sun Valley, Wentworth and Hume lifts to help more accurately record MyRide Dashboard statistics during a skier’s and snowboarder’s time at Perisher.
