What to Wear on your Snow Holiday

Alpine weather is unpredictable and conditions can change quickly, it's important to dress accordingly:

  • Wear waterproof, breathable outerwear (jackets and pants)
  • Wear several thin layers underneath rather than bulky clothing to allow you to take off items if you get too warm.
  • Refrain from wearing jeans, cotton or nylon as outerwear as these materials will not provide enough protection.
  • Body heat is lost from the head, feet and hands so it is important to wear beanies, woollen socks and waterproof gloves.
  • Protect your skin and eyes: wear sunscreen, sunglasses and/or goggles.
  • When skiing or boarding Perisher recommends that you wear a helmet.
  • Waterproof footwear is recommended when walking in the snow.
