Perisher is a film-friendly resort and hosts numerous film shoots each season, large and small. Recognising the value of commercial exposure, we support productions that do not impinge on guest experiences or harm the environment.
Given that the resort operates in the Kosciuszko National Park, in the first instance permission to shoot (in most cases) must be granted by them. Go to: http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/npws.nsf/Content/Applying+for+permission for details.
Perisher offers visually stunning, spectacular mountain scenery. Located in the Kosciuszko National Park, Perisher has seven mountain peaks and four distinct resort areas with 1245 hectares of terrain. The resort has a variety of unique shot sites and features that suit many types of filming needs.
In most cases a location fee will apply. Our fees are based on the size of the shoot, the number of days of actual filming and involvement of resort staff and resources.
An itemised list of fees (staff, transport and equipment) can be supplied by the Marketing Department.
We do require insurance and all mountain access paperwork is handled through our Marketing office.
In most cases it is a requirement that we provide an experienced mountain liaison to assist on commercial productions.
Our liaison acts as a mountain guide, while also protecting Perisher's environmental interests and providing first-hand feedback on working in the resort.
Please enquire with Perisher Marketing for scouting information, guiding and permission.
We require that a Perisher Mountain Liaison Guide be used on most productions.
The primary role of the Mountain Liaison Guide is ensuring all film and commercial production and outside agencies co-exist with the daily operations of Perisher. Plus, ensuring that all activities engaged, will have a zero environmental impact on the mountain.
The MLG is also responsible for the safety of the film crew and public as well as the daily planning of filming activities. The MLG also ensures effective communication between the film crew and all necessary departments at Perisher.
Perisher has a very limited number of beds available on-snow, with more available in Jindabyne. Accommodation advice can be obtained from the Marketing office, or bookings can be done through Perisher Snow Holidays: phone- 1300 655 811.
Lift costs are included in the location fee during regular scheduled openings.
Lift access outside scheduled openings will incur additional costs.
