Discovery and Daycare

Our NEW Snow Discovery Centre, located at the lower level arcade of the Perisher Centre will house Snowy Daycare, as well as the Perisher Discovery Program. By combining the facilities of the Daycare and the Discovery Program, we are able to provide the best opportunity for your young ones to be safe and have fun so they are more open to learning new skills and meeting new challenges. The new Snow Discovery Centre offers three playrooms and a separate sleeping area.

Location: Perisher Valley only.

Ticket sales: Our ticket counter is open from 8.00am for program purchase.

Indoor Registration:
Check in and child drop off is from 8.15am for morning and all day programs and 12.15pm for the afternoon sessions.

Pick up:
Pick up times are at 3.30pm for all day and afternoon programs and 12.00pm for morning sessions. Prior to registration, please ensure that your child’s entire belongings are clearly labelled.

Health Policy: While all possible care and attention is given to all children, sick children will not be permitted to join any of the programs.

Discovery Kids - 3 and 4 years

This ski and care program combines an age appropriate mix of skiing time with games and other activities. This is a fun, no pressure introduction to the sport of skiing with specially trained instructors and indoor care staff. Smaller class sizes will ensure progress and personal attention.

Information: Children are placed into groups according to their ability and will need to be toilet-trained and willing to participate in the activities. On-snow activities and duration will be determined by the needs of all children in the group as well as prevailing weather conditions.

Parents are encouraged to check on their children but please be mindful that this can be disruptive and therefore we recommend a phone call first.

Full Day Discovery: 8:30am to 3:30pm - includes lunch, refreshments, indoor activities and up to 4 hours of skiing.
On-snow times are 9:30am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Check-in and pick up is inside the Centre.

Morning Discovery: 8:30am to 12:00pm – includes refreshments, indoor activities and up to 2 hours of skiing.
On-snow times are 9:30am to 11:30am.
Check-in and pick up is inside the Centre.

Afternoon Discovery: 12:30pm to 3:30pm – includes refreshments, indoor activities and up to 2 hours of skiing.
On-snow times are 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Check-in and pick up is inside the Centre.

Discovery Kids
On-snow times:
Morning 9.30am to 11.30am
Afternoon 1.00pm to 3.00pm
For the benefit of all children late arrivals may not be able to join the on-snow session once lessons have commenced outside. Children will be cared for indoors until they are able to join the lesson.

What to bring:

• Special dietary requirements
• An approved snowsports helmet
• Warm headwear, sunglasses and/or goggles
• Waterproof gloves or mittens
• Skis and ski boots (no poles required)
• Ski suit/jacket and pants, spare socks and underwear
• Emergency contact number to leave with staff
• Clearly label all equipment and clothing with your child's name

Please be advised that due to space restrictions, no equipment storage is available overnight.

What level is your child?
First Timer – never skied before
Level 2 – skied before and can stop unassisted
Level 3 – can ride the lift and turn both directions
Level 4 – confident and can ski the mountain.

Lesson availability is dependent on demand. Not all advertised lesson times may be available; please enquire when making a booking. A minimum of four persons constitutes a Group Lesson. The duration of lessons for groups with less than 4 persons may be reduced.

Penguin Private 3 and 4 years

A one-on-one private lesson for the youngest of skiers; no additional people can be added.

Duration: 1 hour.

Available Lesson Times: 8:30am and 3:30pm. For other available times, please enquire at the Snow Discovery Centre desk.

Penguin Private $82 per hour.

Mum & Me Private Lesson

This is a great way to start skiing and avoid separation anxiety. During a Mum & Me private lesson, our instructors teach your child while giving you tips (Mum or Dad welcome) on how to develop your child’s skills.

Duration: 1 hour.

Available Lesson Times: 8:30am and 3:30pm. For other available times, please enquire at the Snow Discovery Centre desk.

Advanced bookings are highly recommended, only one parent please.

Mum & Me Private $93 per hour.
