Alpine Competition Ski Teams

In 2013 Perisher’s Winter Sports Club ski race program caters to young athletes who are able to commit on a full or part time basis.

For those who are unable to commit to a structured training program, our popular Casual Packs will provide the opportunity to train alongside our part time competition ski team on selected days.

Alpine ski program - competition age groups:

• Children 8 to 10 Years
• Junior 11 to 15 Years
• FIS (International Ski Federation) 16+ Years                  

Full Time Ski Team

This program is for the experienced athlete who wants to develop the skills necessary for long term success in the sport. Athletes are required to participate in the SSA race series (Children’s or FIS) and fully commit to the rigours of striving for personal excellence; a key outcome of the program.

The Children’s Competitions that you are required to attend are the Blue Cow Cup, TSRC Cup, SSA Races in Victoria and National finals. U16 and U14 racers are required to purchase a Ski and Snowboard Australia (SSA) race licence in order to participate.

FIS racers are required to purchase an International race licence from Ski and Snowboard Australia (SSA) and attend FIS races in NSW and Victoria with participation in New Zealand FIS races optional.

Dedication is essential for those attending the full time ski race program. Training diaries, goal setting, ski preparation and physical fitness are obligatory and the appropriate equipment is a mandatory aspect of training.

Duration: 45 Days, including three weeks of school holidays, weekends and some mid-week days.
Additional training days are available by arrangement, optional participation in FIS races in New Zealand are also available

Cost: $3060.00 (until 2^nd June 2013)*  |  $3360 (from 3^rd June 2013)

* Early sign-up bonus – sign up prior to 31^st March; pay in two instalments (50% at sign up, the remainder of the balance due on 31st May). Full payments will be required after the 1^st of April.

Meeting Place: Blue Cow (outside the Skitube Terminal). Daily start and finish times may vary through the course of the season; regular start times are from 9:00am to 3:00pm, early morning starts are from 7:00am to 1:00pm.

Part Time Ski Team

This program develops the skills required for success.

The aim is to further an athlete’s alpine ski racing and skier cross abilities. The focus is on all mountain skills, free-skiing in challenging terrain, developing solid race techniques in gates and achieving set goals.

A large component of on snow training (approx. 70%) will be alpine specific, in-order to prepare for effective participation in the skier cross discipline. Safety, enjoyment and learning are our keys to success.

Athletes of all ages are required to participate in the SSA race series hosted at Perisher and this program is a fantastic opportunity for all skiers and especially Inter-schools competitors to take their skiing ability to higher levels.

Please note: the full time athletes will be following a different program to the part time team, therefore athletes will not likely to be training with the full time team.

Duration: 30 Days, including selected school holidays and weekends with limited mid-week days prior to race events. Additional training days are available by arrangement.

Cost: $2190.00 (until 2^nd June 2013)* | $2390 (from 3^rd June 2013)
