Snowboard Teams

In 2013 Perisher’s Winter Sports Club snowboard program caters to young athletes who are able to commit on a full or part time basis. Competition Team programs are designed to cater to individual snowboard disciplines (Boardercross, Slopestyle and Halfpipe) while the Talent Development Team program delivers a broad spectrum of skill development to progress athletes and provide strong fundamental skills to build confidence and gain experience.

For those who are unable to commit to a structured training program, our popular Casual Packs will provide the opportunity to train alongside our talent development team on selected days.

Competition Snowboard Teams (12 to 16+ Years)

Competition Teams are for athletes with a solid fundamental skill set and a desire to compete and win at all levels in their chosen discipline. Participants will continue to focus on developing stronger skills relevant to their discipline whilst gaining experience in a competitive environment. The key attention is to act as an underpinning feeder platform for talent ID camps and futures programs, providing athletes with a smooth transition towards potential NSWIS and National team selection.

Strength and conditioning, sports psychology and nutritional advice will also be offered to further enhance athletic progress. Teams will learn about career development along with the pathways available, sponsorship and athlete management. All Team programs will be based on a ratio of 60% training and 40% competition.

Video analysis will also be a major part of all Teams to help with skill advancement.

Competition Team programs are offered for Boardercross and Slopestyle as well as Halfpipe in line with Olympic formats and athletes will need to decide on a discipline to concentrate on for their future development. Boardercross and Slopestyle programs run for 45 days while the 30 day Halfpipe program takes the availability of the halfpipe into consideration.
