Today at Perisher
A cold morning and a sunny Saturday
We’ve woken up to another clear, crisp morning at Perisher. The temperature is currently a cold -7.4°C and we’re headed for a top of 5°C again today. Winds are forecast to stay light, so it should be a cracker of a day up here.
The snowguns were able to kick into gear at around 10:30pm last night, with 178 guns firing up. They are still going strong as we write this and will run for as long as they can this morning to keep building up the base. We’re working hard to get the Village 8 back in action as soon as possible, we just need a little more coverage to open it safely.
The Front Valley Conveyor and Harry’s & Herman’s Conveyor at Smiggin Holes are confirmed to open this morning, and the operations team will work hard to open up more lifts and terrain for skiing and riding as soon as it’s safe to do so. Keep an eye on the lift status report for updates throughout the day.
We’re also opening the Quad Express for scenic rides from 10am today - allowing foot passengers to head up to Mid Station, which will be open for food and drinks. Check out the new Sugar and Snow lolly shop, then ride up around the top of the Quad to take in the stunning views of Perisher Valley.
If you’re looking for something else to do, you can also jump on the Skitube and head up to Blue Cow. The 7-minute trip delivers you to Blue Cow at 1,900 metres above sea level, accessible only via the Skitube or the ski slopes in winter. Enjoy the views from the warmth of the Blue Cow Bistro over a coffee or a meal, then step out onto the deck and walk to the viewing platform for the full uninterrupted picture.
