International Employees

Are you an International Employee?

Due to current travel restrictions into Australia, we will be unable to process applications from international candidates until further notice, unless applicants are currently already in Australia and in possession of a current visa with work rights. International applicants are welcome to apply but should expect a delay in their application being reviewed at this time due to these travel restrictions.

Our guests come from around the world – and so do our staff! For the majority of our positions, overseas applicants need to obtain their own visa with appropriate rights to work in Australia.

All visas must be valid until the end of the season (late Sept/early Oct). If you're successful in gaining employment with Perisher, you will be asked to supply a copy of your passport for us to verify your work rights.

For further information regarding working visas, visit the website of the Department of Home Affairs website, or contact the Australian Consulate in your country.

    Working Holiday Maker Visas

The most popular type of visa to work at Perisher for young adults is the 'Working Holiday Maker Visa' for those who want to extend a holiday and work in Australia to fund it.

Click here to check the requirements and apply Working Holiday (subclass 417) or here Work and Holiday (subclass 462)

Extensions to a previous Working Holiday Visa

To apply for your second or third visa and check your requirements click here Working Holiday (subclass 417) or here Work and Holiday (subclass 462). The Australian Department of Home Affairs states that you must have completed a set of employment in 'specified work' in selected regional areas of Australia.

Unfortunately, working at Perisher Ski Resort does not qualify as 'specialised work' in regional Australia.

You can apply online for your TFN once you are in Australia and should do this directly with the Australian Tax Office (ATO). Obtaining a TFN is FREE. Do not be scammed into paying companies to obtain a TFN on your behalf.

Superannuation refers to Australia's retirement program/pension fund. Employers are required by law to pay an additional amount, based on a percentage of an employee's salaries and wages (currently 9.5%) into a complying superannuation fund.

There are a number of options for claiming tax and superannuation back when returning to your country of residence. This information will be provided to all successful applicants via email.
