Are you an International Employee?
Due to current travel restrictions into Australia, we will be unable to process applications from international candidates until further notice, unless applicants are currently already in Australia and in possession of a current visa with work rights. International applicants are welcome to apply but should expect a delay in their application being reviewed at this time due to these travel restrictions.
Our guests come from around the world – and so do our staff! For the majority of our positions, overseas applicants need to obtain their own visa with appropriate rights to work in Australia.
All visas must be valid until the end of the season (late Sept/early Oct). If you're successful in gaining employment with Perisher, you will be asked to supply a copy of your passport for us to verify your work rights.
For further information regarding working visas, visit the website of the Department of Home Affairs website, or contact the Australian Consulate in your country.
If you work in Australia, tax will be withheld from your pay and you may need to lodge a tax return each year. The requirement to lodge a tax return will depend on how much income you earn during the year. You are a working holiday maker if you have a visa subclass 417 or 462.
As a working holiday maker, your employer also has to pay superannuation for you currently at 9.5%. When you leave Australia you can apply to have your super paid to you as a Departing Australia Superannuation Payment (DASP) https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Super/In-detail/Temporary-residents-and-super/Super-information-for-temporary-residents-departing-Australia/
