Getting to Perisher


    Take the stress out of your morning commute to Perisher by travelling on Skitube. Perisher's Skitube is Australia's only alpine railway and is the quickest and most reliable way to travel to Perisher in winter.

    Departing from Bullocks Flat, it only takes 10 minutes to travel to Perisher Valley on Skitube. Disembark at Perisher Valley Terminal for access to Front Valley and Smiggin Holes (via free shuttle), or swap trains to continue on to Blue Cow. 

    With loads of free day and overnight parking at Bullocks Flat Terminal, Skitube is a convenient, time-saving alternative to driving to Perisher in winter.

  • Bullocks Flat Terminal
    • All Skitube services to Perisher depart from Bullocks Flat Terminal, approximately a 20 minute drive from Jindabyne
    • Both day and overnight parking is free at Bullocks Flat and it is rare that parking at Bullocks Flat reaches capacity 
    • Guests wishing to use Skitube may also use Snowy Mountains Bus Service to travel to and from Bullocks Flat
    • National Park entry fees are not required for day and overnight parking at Bullocks Flat

  • Snowy Mountains Bus Service

    Snowy Mountains Bus Service is a safe and convenient way to travel between Jindabyne and Perisher during winter.

    The service will take passengers from Jindabyne to Perisher 7 days per week during the ski season from 8 June to 6 October 2024, with connecting services via East Jindabyne, Tyrolean Village and Cooma.

    We recommend booking online ahead of time, especially during peak periods such as school holidays.

    By car

    We strongly recommend travelling to and from Perisher via Skitube, especially during peak periods such as weekends and school holidays and in the event of adverse weather.

    Travelling on alpine roads in winter can be dangerous. If you choose to drive Perisher, it is vital that you are familiar with driving in snowy conditions

  • Parking
    • Limited day parking is available at Perisher, Smiggin Holes and Guthega. Please note that Perisher's car parks reach capacity quickly during peak periods, especially on weekends and in school holidays 
  • Traffic
    • Travel time from Jindabyne and surrounds to Perisher can vary depending on weather conditions and travel dates
    • We recommend allowing at least 40 minutes to travel from Jindabyne to Perisher and allowing extra time during peak periods such as weekends and school holidays
  • National Parks requirements
    • All visitors to Kosciuszko National Park are required to pay an entry fee of $29 per day per vehicle
    • Entry permits can be purchased at the NPWS Visitor Centre in Jindabyne or when entering the National Park from Kosciuszko Road (toward Perisher), or online here
    • It is compulsory for all 2WD vehicles to carry snow chains in winter between June and October long weekends and it is important that you are familar with how to fit snow chains to your vehicle

Getting around Perisher

    Perisher Valley & Smiggin Holes

    During winter, a free shuttle bus service operates between Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes, 7 days a week. 

    Shuttle services run approximately every 15 minutes between 7:30am and 5:30pm. 

    Pick-ups are from the turning circle outside Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal and the metal bridge outside Smiggins Hotel in Smiggin Holes. 

    Perisher Valley & Blue Cow

    When conditions allow, all four of Perisher's resort areas are interlinked by ski and snowboard trails. 

    For first-timers, early beginners, and guests wanting a quick and convenient way to travel between resort areas, Skitube operates between Perisher Valley and Blue Cow during winter.
