We are continuing to make preparations for our scheduled opening of the 2020 winter season on 6th June. Vail Resorts is closely monitoring the progress of COVID-19 in Australia. As the season approaches, we will advise of any planned changes to resort operations for the 2020 winter season. 

Due to current travel restrictions into Australia, we will be unable to process applications from international candidates until further notice, unless applicants are currently already in Australia and in possession of a current visa with work rights. International applicants are welcome to apply but should expect a delay in their application being reviewed at this time due to these travel restrictions.

Ski and Snowboard Instructor:

Certified Instructors - Experienced

With a Snowsports School as large as Perisher we are always looking for talented certified instructors who want to continue to build on their careers and put their expertise to use. As a Perisher Ski or Snowboard Instructor you will create exceptional experiences for our guests on a daily basis by working as a part of our team.

For those who hold a coaching certification or have extensive coaching experience there are coaching opportunities with: Schools, Special Groups and Race Private Lesson throughout the season.

Requirements: Recognized Snowsports Instructors Certification and proof of teaching experience is required, advanced skiing/riding ability is necessary.

Certified Instructors - Without Experience

If you are passionate about working with people and enthusiastic to be on the snow but have minimal to no teaching experience, we can help. 

Perisher will provide the training support you need to prepare you for working in Perisher Snowsports School and grow as an instructor with real world experience teaching in our school. 

Requirements: No teaching experience required; just strong people skills, patience and a friendly personality. Advanced skiing/riding ability is desired with intermediate skills as a minimum requirement.

Uncertified - Always wanted to be an instructor?

Have you always wanted to be an instructor? If you are passionate about working with people and enthusiastic to be on the snow but are not a certified instructor, then we can help you get started in this exciting and rewarding career.

Perisher will provide the training and support you need to grow as an instructor with real world experience and attend your first instructor's assessment operated by Australia's National Instructing Association (APSI).

Requirements: No teaching certification or experience required; just strong people skills, patience and a friendly personality. Advanced skiing/riding ability is desired with intermediate skills as a minimum requirement.

Ski and Snowboard Coaches:

Winter Sports Club Seasonal Program Coaches

Perisher’s Winter Sports Club (WSC) runs a range of season long programs across all ages and disciplines:

  • Alpine
  • Snowboards
  • Moguls
  • Freeski

As part of the Snowsports school team, WSC coaches have the opportunity to train and professionally develop as well as instruct school lessons, depending on the extent of their coaching program.

As a WSC coach you will work in Perisher’s world class facilities including Australia’s best Terrain Parks and only Half Pipe, FIS Mogul and Alpine Courses plus you will have access to the best coaching playground in the Southern Hemisphere.

Snowsports Administrators & Support Crew:

Snowsports Administrators

Snowsports School Administrators are like the beating heart of our team. Connecting the right instructor with the right guest so we can continue to provide exceptional experiences takes enthusiastic, task orientated individuals with strong customer service. If you feel like you have the skills to administer Snowsports school products for Australia’s Favourite Ski Resort, then this job is perfect for you.

Requirements: Attention to detail, computer skills and commitment to phenomenal service. On the job training and supervision provided.

Instructor Support Crew

With over 400 instructors working across our resort we are looking for hard working, happy individuals who can support the school by setting up and maintaining our kids specific teaching areas.

With this fun opportunity you will be able to ski/ride our vast resort, work on improving your skills and play an essential supportive role to our instructors by helping introduce children to the wonders of the snow.

Requirements: Need to be a low intermediate skier/rider who loves a hands-on approach to work and excellent customer service. On the job training and supervision provided.

Race and Events Department:

Event Worker and Timing / Result Staff

Perisher Race and Events Department is responsible for the organisation, set up, and execution of Alpine, Moguls, Freestyle and Snowboard events; as well as a variety of special animation events throughout Perisher Ski Resort. Working in Race Department will enable you to learn and use a wide variety of skills relating to a wide range of disciplines of winter sport. You will also have the opportunity to work in cooperation with many different departments within the company, and with coaches from national and state institutes of sport. If you have had prior experience in Snowsports events we would love to hear from you!

Event Workers: Focus on safety for every event and work as part of a fun team, to ensure the smooth running of events across the resort. Most of the work is physical and varied and you may never find yourself doing the same thing twice. It is extremely rewarding to work with a team that gets events up and running and sees them through to completion.

Requirements: Need to be a strong skier who loves events and the thrill of competition as well as excellent customer service. On the job training and supervision is provided.

Timing and Result Staff: Our timing and results team is responsible for timing events and producing results. As a part of this team you will be responsible for ensuring all timing equipment is prepared and ready for the day, as well as closely monitoring the results as the competition unfolds. Timing and results staff assist in providing accurate results at the completion of competitions.

Requirements: Attention to detail, computer skills and commitment to phenomenal service. On the job training and supervision provided, prior experience and officials certifications an asset.
