The snow is back at Perisher!
For a couple of weeks there, we were starting to wonder where winter had got to. Then, almost as if Perisher had been listening to everyone's hopes, the snow found its way back.
It didn't arrive quietly either. The week kicked off with some wild weather, the kind of conditions that test your patience before they reward it. But on Wednesday night, we finally got a fresh dusting of 5cm, with more forecast on the way. It was exactly what we'd been hoping for!
Thursday night then delivered the real treat. As temperatures dropped further, overnight showers blanketed the slopes in 20cm of fresh snow. Perisher is finally looking, and feeling, like winter again.
What this means for snowmaking this week
A cool change does more than make the mountain look the part. It sets us up nicely for snowmaking over the days ahead, too.
With more than 277 snow guns across Perisher ready to go, our team can fire them up whenever conditions allow, building on what nature's already given us and getting more terrain ready for guests as quickly as possible.
Keep an eye on the lift status report over the coming days for updates on terrain and lift openings.
Plan your trip to Perisher now!
With lower temps, natural snowfall, and ideal snowmaking conditions, we’re hoping this is the circuit breaker that gets everything moving.
It’s no secret the last few weeks have been difficult for Australian snow resorts, but don't let a quiet start fool you; Perisher has turned slow beginnings like this one into some of its best seasons, including 1991, 2014, and 2017, so if you've been waiting for a sign to start planning your trip, then this is it! Be sure to lock in your lift tickets early to save up to 35% compared to at the ticket window.
Ready to level up while you’re here? Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned rider, there’s a lesson for everyone at Perisher. Learn from world-class instructors, skip the lift lines, and discover new terrain. Just be sure to book lessons early, as spots fill up fast!
Here's hoping there's plenty more where that came from. We can't wait to see you at Perisher this winter!
