The calm after the storm: 33cm on the ground!
Well, what a crazy few days at Perisher!
After a bout of sunny weather and ideal snowmaking conditions, a snowstorm slowly crept in on Saturday morning. Before you knew it, by Saturday arvo we saw our first flakes of the weekend and the vibes were high.
Overnight, the storm properly arrived, strong winds, blizzard-like conditions, and 15cm of fresh snow on the ground by morning. But it didn't stop there. Over the next few days, another 18cm landed on the snowstake, bringing the storm total to 33cm. It's exactly the dump the mountain needed: base building, terrain opening, and Perisher well and truly back to life.

What opened over the weekend?
With snowmaking conditions this good and the natural snowfall stacking on top, terrain opened up fast. It felt like a new lift every day. Friday brought the Scott J-Bar, Blue Cow School Rope Tow, Possum Conveyor and Kaaten Triple Chair online. Saturday, the Summit Quad Chair spun for the first time this season. Then Sunday, the Hume T-Bar joined the mix, giving skiers and boarders even more options across the resort.
And now that the storm has cleared, we're excited to announce even more lift openings. Today, Mt Perisher 6 and Pretty Valley Double Chair opened in Perisher, Ridge Quad Chair opened in Blue Cow, and Blue Calf T-Bar opened in Guthega - all for the first time this season.
With these announcements we have lifts in all four resort areas now open!
Please note, while lifts in all four resort areas are open, they are not interconnected. The following access advice applies:
- Blue Cow: Travel to and from Blue Cow via Skitube only.
- Guthega: Access via Guthega car park with a short walk to the bottom of Calf T-Bar. No access via Blue Cow.
- Smiggin Holes: By shuttle bus only, every 15 minutes between Perisher and Smiggin Holes
With the Mountain Ops team working hard, we expect more lifts and terrain to open soon. Download the Perisher App to be the first to know and keep an eye on the lift report for real-time updates.
