Today at Perisher

185 snow guns overnight, and a clear day ahead

Good morning and happy Friday from Perisher. We are ending July with a beautiful day. It's a chilly -7.5°C in Perisher Valley and the forecast is calling for a top of 5°C. It's clear now, with the forecast calling for a partly cloudy day and south-westerly winds of 15-20km/h, becoming light in the morning.

The snow guns had another solid run overnight, with 185 guns firing from around 4pm yesterday, and they're still cranking out the snow this morning.

The grooming team have been out there working their magic, and we've got more lifts coming online. Hume and Burke T-Bars opened in Smiggins yesterday, and over in Guthega, Blue Cow T-Bar and the Carpark Double Chair will also open today. This brings our total lifts set to spin to 34. More may come online, so as always, keep an eye on the lift status report for real-time updates.

We have 51 groomed runs and, with the cold temps and snowmaking, the surface should be really nice out there. Please note, the best skiing and riding remains in the snowmaking areas, and coverage may be thin elsewhere.

Around the resort, the NSW Freestyle Junior Moguls series kicks off on the lower section of Toppa's Dream and we have live music on at Blue Cow, Jax and Mid Station this afternoon.

It's going to be a great day on the hill, so get out there and enjoy!

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
