12cm Overnight! “SHRED THE GNAR!”
The cold front that hit last night brought with it blizzard conditions, and we’ve woken up to 12cm of fresh snow! With powder waiting to be chased off-piste and mostly sunny skies this morning, it’s shaping up to be a great day to “SHRED THE GNAR!” (As the kids say, I think).
The winds have eased down to moderate after last night's blizzard, but as always, alpine conditions can change rapidly. Be sure to keep an eye on the Perisher Lift Report and opt-in to ‘Snow & Weather’ and ‘Lift & Operations’ notifications in the Perisher app for the latest updates.
Temps dropped to -3°C overnight, so the snowmakers were out in full force, firing up 169 snow guns across the resort. Today will start mostly sunny, with a medium chance of more snow showers developing into the afternoon, with a top of 1°C.
42 lifts are expected to spin today, and 72 runs have been freshly groomed, so there’s plenty of terrain to explore.
What To Wear
It’s a chilly one today! Be sure to layer up with warm base layers, a light mid-layer, and make sure your waterproof outerwear is ready for potential snow showers in the afternoon. And don’t forget, even if it’s cloudy, SPF is a must! Missing something? Drop into Perisher Sports or Slopestyle and let our expert team help you get mountain-ready.
Lens of the Day
With the variable alpine conditions, we’d recommend a variable lens to adapt to the changing light conditions throughout the day.
