The V8 is open!

Day two of the 2026 season is looking just as spectacular as day one! We're waking up to another sunny morning with temperatures sitting at -4 degrees, and we're expecting a top of around 9 degrees as the day warms up. Winds were relatively calm overnight and are expected to stay that way through the day.

With cold dry air and low temps overnight of around -5 degrees, the snow guns had another solid run from 6pm and are still going at time of writing, giving the natural base a welcome top-up.

We have some very exciting news… the V8 chairlift is opening for the first time this winter! The Front Valley Conveyor also remains open and is the perfect starting point for beginners and those still dusting off the snow legs from last season.

Head up with the $99 adult beginner ticket and add on a beginner lesson for just $1 more. Kids are $54 plus $1 for a lesson. The Peak Musical Festival continues today with free live entertainment across the resort, so there's never been a better excuse to make a day of it.

Don't forget, the Epic Australia Pass remains the best value way to enjoy the season. Unlimited days on the Epic Australia Pass, or any 4 days for just $168 a day. Grab yours and make the most of winter 2026!

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
