Today at Perisher

Wild winter weather ahead

Perisher is set for some wild winter weather today! It's currently 1°C, and while this morning brings a mix of sun and cloud, conditions will turn as the day progresses, with high cloud and wind moving in. We suggest making the most of the morning!

Blizzard-like conditions are due to roll in this afternoon, bringing rain that should hopefully fall as snow at the peaks. Today's top will be 4°C, with north-westerly winds of 30 to 45 km/h and stronger gusts here and there.

High wind may impact lift operations, so check the lift report for real-time updates, or download the Perisher App to stay in the loop!

41 lifts scheduled to spin today and 64 groomed runs to carve up. Conditions on the slopes will be hard packed with some man-made snow on top, as the snow guns have been running since around 9pm last night and are still going this morning. With cloud cover rolling in, visibility on the slopes could be affected, so please take care while skiing and boarding.

In between runs, catch some live music from the Greg Nunan Duo at Jax Bar and the Steve Edmonds Band at Blue Cow Bistro!

We should start reaping the benefits of this storm tomorrow, with rain turning to snow showers overnight and continuing through the day! The days following are also looking promising for snowfall, so stay tuned to see how much we get.

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course.
