Today at Perisher

It's The Weekend!

It's a bit of a chilly one today with mostly sunny skies and a top temperature of 3°C. Those moderate north-westerly winds are packing a bit of a bite this morning, so be sure to layer up before you head out!

Temperatures dropped to -7°C overnight, so the snowmaking team has been hard at work, firing up 156 snow guns across the resort. Even at 6:30am, they’re still cranking away.

The groomed runs are looking fantastic first thing today, with a top layer of corduroy on a packed base, giving you smooth turns right from the start.

As always, alpine conditions can change rapidly. Check the Perisher Lift Report and opt-in to ‘Snow & Weather’ and ‘Lift & Operations’ notifications in the Perisher app for the latest updates.

For those keen to get the first fresh tracks, Subaru WRX First Tracks is on this morning. Epic Australia Pass holders can head up the lift at 7:30am, before the official opening, to lap that fresh corduroy before anyone else.

Don’t think the fun stops when the sun sets! Fireworks and night skiing & snowboarding (weather permitting) are back tonight. During night skiing, Perisher Fire and Rescue will be putting on a snow demonstration near the V8. There’s also a kids après disco out front of JAX Bar with free hot chocolates, a perfect way to keep the little ones entertained.

WHAT TO WEAR:

With those cold temps, make sure you're wearing warm base layers, a solid mid-layer, and your waterproof outerwear to stay comfortable all day. If you need any gear, swing by Perisher Sports or Slopestyle, they’ve got everything you need to get kitted out.

LENS OF THE DAY:

Given the changing alpine conditions, a variable lens will be your best bet to handle everything the mountain throws your way.
