Today at Perisher

Another windy day on the mountain

Those strong northwesterly winds are sticking around, and there's a chance of a few showers this morning. It's currently 3.2°C in Perisher Valley, with a top of 5°C forecast. Winds are averaging about 30km/h with gusts up to 69km/h, and we're expecting them to sit somewhere between 35 and 50km/h through the day. There's some high cloud around, but visibility is holding up well.

With the wind still around, Mt P6, Perisher Quad Express and Leichhardt Chairs will be starting the day on wind hold. Our Mountain Operations team will be keeping a close eye on conditions and will get lifts spinning as soon as it becomes safe to do so. Keep the Perisher App handy or check the lift status report for updates as they come through.

With these lifts starting the day on hold, we're looking at 10 lifts scheduled to spin first up, and there are 12 groomed runs across the resort.

Congratulations to all of our National Interschools competitors, school coordinators and volunteers, showing great resilience in tough conditions. As we roll into Day 3, sign up to the event WhatsApp group for event updates and information throughout the day.

And if you need another layer to fight off the wind chill, Slopestyle and Perisher Sports have you covered, with up to 50% off select products, plus an extra 15% off for Pass holders on top of that.

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
