Today at Perisher

226 guns firing across the resort!

It’s a chilly start at Perisher this morning, with the temperature currently hovering at -4°C. Today is looking to be a partly cloudy day with the sun peeking through at times, a top of 1°C, and light south easterly winds around 17km/h.

Recent conditions have been ideal for snowmaking - the guns were firing for most of the day yesterday and all through the night (and still going this morning!), helping to build on the natural snowfall we received before the weekend. The temps are looking like they’ll remain low over the coming days, meaning we can continue to pump the guns across the resort.

We were also able to get more of the resort open yesterday, including the V8 and Quad Express, the Mitchell and Sturt T-Bars to the top in Front Valley, as well as Pony Ride and the Early Starter Double Chair over at Blue Cow. These lifts are all expected to open again today, giving guests more options for skiing and boarding this weekend. The Hike Park is also open today for those eager to get their park laps in! Keep an eye on the lift status report for more information.

If you’re looking for other things to do this weekend, you can take the Skitube to Blue Cow. The 7-minute trip delivers you 1,900 metres above sea level, where you can enjoy a coffee or lunch at Blue Cow Bistro and take in the stunning alpine views. Find out more about trips to Blue Cow here.

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
