Australian Junior Freeride Championships

The Australian Junior Freeride Championships are happening again from 31 August to 2 September and are set to showcase the best young talent with over 200 junior athletes aged from 6 to 18 years old battling it out in Perisher’s Terrain Parks. A step up in competition from freestyle events in Interschools, this is the next step in the pathway in competitive freestyle skiing and snowboarding for the younger generation. Come and watch as the best juniors form across the nation battle it out.

The event sees three days of action from Australia’s next generation of freestylers, and up for grabs are the Ski and Snowboard Junior Titles in the disciplines of Slopestyle & Halfpipe, and Boarder-Cross

  • Who: Park Skiers and Snowboarders, ages 6-18
    • Grom (12 years & under, born 2007 - 2013)
    • Youth (13 to 14 years, born 2006 - 2005)
    • Rookies (15 to 19 years, born 2004 - 2000)
  • Where:
    • Slopestyle, Leichhardt Terrain Park
    • Half-Pipe,  right-side Front Valley.
    • Boarder-Cross, Sun Valley Rider-Cross Course.
  • When: Saturday 31 August – Monday 2 September
