A Mostly Fine Day Ahead

Good morning and happy Thursday from Perisher!

Temperatures dipped to -2°C last night and the drier night meant the snowmakers were able to fire up the guns in the early hours of the morning and have only just switched off while writing this report! A great sign of things to come as the season builds.

We’re headed for a top of 7°C and in for a mostly clear day, there's just a bit of high cloud hanging about early this morning. Winds are currently blowing around 15 km/h from the Southeast and are forecast to swing East-Northeast throughout the day.

The Front Valley Conveyor and Harry’s & Herman’s Conveyor at Smiggin Holes remain open for those looking to find their feet or shake off the rust. The Hike Park is also open, ready for anyone keen to get a few laps in.

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
