Today at Perisher

High winds and showers forecast

The high winds will continue today, with some showers in the forecast. It's currently just below 5°C, with a forecast top of 8°C. Winds are a strong north-westerly, currently averaging around 50km/h with gusts up to 80km/h, and forecast to range between 40 and 60km/h throughout the day.

These winds will impact lift operations. Mt P6 Chair, Perisher Quad Express and Leichhardt Chairs will all start the day on wind hold. With these lifts on hold, we'll have 10 lifts scheduled to spin first up and there are 12 groomed runs across the resort. The team will monitor conditions all day and open lifts only when it's safe to do so. Download the Perisher App or keep an eye on the lift status report for real-time updates.

Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course.
