PERISHER'S PLAYSTATION TERRAIN PARKS - THE BEST IN AUSTRALIA
The 2017 snow season will see the nine award-winning PlayStation® Terrain Parks in Perisher live up to their name for another amazing year. These incredible parks include; two half pipes, two ridercross courses and a fantastic progression of slopestyle parks from beginners through to the experts. The PlayStation Slopestyle Terrain Park, awarded 2016 Snowsports Industries of Australia ‘Best Park’, is also rated by its riders as the best terrain park in the southern hemisphere and will once again only provide the best for Perisher’s guests. Along with great parks come top-notch events bringing together Australia’s and the world’s best slopestyle skiers and snowboarders.
PlayStation Design A Park
As part of this year’s partnership, Perisher and PlayStation are offering a unique opportunity to be part of the Parks team. The Design a Park feature has been launched on Perisher’s website, where guests can design the next PlayStation Slopestyle Terrain Park. Perisher’s Parks team will not only judge the winning entry, but they will also build the winning design on the iconic site. More information here.
PlayStation Rail Jam
PlayStation is also adding to the Perisher 2017 Opening Weekend celebrations. Perisher Parks crew will build the first PlayStation Terrain Park for the season and hold the PlayStation Rail Jam for local riders. This opening on-snow event comprises of rail and box features for those who are looking for some terrain park action early in the season. More information here.
PlayStation Slopestyle Championships
Saturday 15 July will see the PlayStation Slopestyle Championships for skiers and boarders of all ages showing off their new and favourite tricks in the award-winning PlayStation Slopestyle Terrain Park. Competitors from around Australia will be showing off the latest tricks on the rails, boxes and jumps. More information here.
PlayStation Meet the Pros
After a resounding success last year, PlayStation Meet the Pros is back throughout August and September. Perisher and PlayStation are giving Perisher guests the opportunity to meet some of the best ski and snowboard slopestyle athletes in the world. On select Sundays guest can grab a Meet the Pros cap, have it signed by their favourite athlete and ride the PlayStation Leichhardt Terrain Park with them. More information here.
Adding to the stacked PlayStation events calendar, the PlayStation terrain parks will also host a myriad of other ski and snowboard events including the Australian Junior Freeride Championships, Rip Curl Grom Search and the NSW Interschool championships with the top juniors from around the country competing.
The best freeride skiers and snowboarders in the world will also be lapping the PlayStation parks in 2017 to train in what they describe as the best terrain parks in the southern hemisphere. With riding royalty and their national teams from North America, Scandinavia and Europe, the athletes will spend time in Perisher preparing for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
