Today at Perisher
The Change Has Arrived
The pattern change we spoke about yesterday has arrived, bringing wind, precipitation and the promise of colder conditions to come.
It’s windy and wet in Perisher Valley this morning. The temperature is sitting just below 5°C and is forecast to fall throughout the day. The precipitation is expected to turn to snow on the higher peaks this afternoon, with freezing levels continuing to lower into tonight. With a bit of luck, the resort could look very different by tomorrow morning.
Strong north-westerly winds are blowing at 40-60km/h, so hold on to your hats.
Looking ahead, colder temperatures are forecast throughout next week, bringing some promising snowmaking windows. The team will be making the most of every opportunity as we work to build snow and open terrain as quickly as possible.
The snow will be soft underfoot from the get-go today. The Front Valley Conveyor is scheduled to spin from 8:30am, and the Hike Park remains open with one feature for those willing to brave the weather.
