The Snowstorm is Here! 20cm Overnight!

Good morning from Perisher!

It was a wild night up in the mountains with the snowstorm arriving and in full force. There has been 20cm of snow so far and more expected still to come! Our grooming team worked hard in the challenging conditions to prepare 69 runs, ready for some fresh tracks to be made.

Similar to last night, there are very strong winds expected to hang around today, but that shouldn't stop you from chasing all this fresh new white stuff around the resort. With the temperature topping out at just -1°C and the blizzard showing no signs of easing, it’s set to be a chilly one on the mountain.

In weather like this, alpine conditions are changing quickly, so make sure you head to the Perisher Lift Report for the latest updates and opt-in to ‘Snow & Weather’ and ‘Lift & Operations’ notifications in the Perisher app so you’re always in the loop.

WHAT TO WEAR:

It is going to be quite wild out there today so we would recommend to rug up in warm waterproof layers from head to toe to stay as dry and as comfortable as possible. If you're in need of anything, head into Perisher Sports or Slopestyle, where we’ve got 30% off outerwear, footwear, and apparel at participating outlets. *Excluding Perisher-branded merchandise & footwear

LENS OF THE DAY:

With this blizzard and all this snow, we'd recommend a low-light lense to optimise your vision out there today.

WHAT'S ON TODAY:

  • Live music: Red Bull DJ pop-up in Jax Bar 11am-4pm

*Natural snow depth is supplemented with snowmaking in certain areas. Natural snow depth is measured at roughly 1,830m by Snowy Hydro Limited who have invested in new instrumentation across the Snowy Scheme and can now provide more frequent snow depth readings at a site close to the Spencers Creek snow course. This near real-time snow depth information is available HERE.
