8 June 2026

Winter is here, and what a way to kick things off!

The lifts were spinning, the sun was shining, and the smiles were big. Opening weekend was a great start to the 2026 season, and we couldn’t be happier to have you back on the hill. Here is a look back at what went down this long weekend!

The Snow Showed Up

Just before opening weekend, a storm cycle rolled through the Perisher Valley delivering the natural snow we needed to get the season started. With dry, cold air and low temperatures, our snowmaking team got to work topping up the slopes and opening Front Valley for the first weekend of winter. Saturday saw the Front Valley Conveyor spinning, and come Sunday we were stoked to add the V8 to the mix, giving everyone the chance to get some early season laps in.

We’re looking forward to opening more terrain as the season builds!

Good Vibes Only

The sun came out to play and the smiles were everywhere. Whether you were dropping into your first run of the season or just soaking it all in from the deck with a coffee in hand, the vibes on and off the hill were immaculate.

The hike park also opened with a couple of rails for those keen to shake the rust off and get their first tricks of the season in.

Peak Festival Brought the Energy

The good times didn't stop when the lifts did. Peak Festival took over Perisher Valley, bringing incredible talent, live music and an atmosphere that was hard to beat. With performances from Jindabyne locals, Australian Idol stars and more, the valley was buzzing well into the evening. This is what Perisher weekends are all about.

The Mountain is Alive

Across the resort, everything is up and running. Retail, rentals, restaurants and cafes are all open and ready to welcome you, and we can’t wait to open even more terrain when conditions allow.

Missed Out on the Fun?

Couldn’t make it up for the long weekend? There are still some great June deals available to make the most of the early season!

And if you haven’t locked in your Pass yet, you can still grab an Epic Australia 4-Day Pass or Epic Australia Pass until 17 June. It’s the best value way to access the mountain, with great discounts on lessonsrentals and more.

We're just getting started, and we cannot wait to share the rest of this season with you. Stay tuned to the Snow Report and Perisher's official channels for the latest operational information, including lift operations, terrain availability and resort updates. See you on the mountain!
